So, there she is...a young, sexy thing who is encased in her very first VIP-roped-off-to-everyone-else-bottle-service-only section of a highly popular New York City club. She is asked by the hunky server, "What would you care to start off with this evening?". She ponders the drink menu and looks up at the server from her gorgeous black suede couch pointing to the words on the menu, "My friends and I will have a bottle of Moway, please." With a slight pursing of his lips, the hunky server bends down to her level and corrects the petite, blonde vixen, "it's pronounced "Mow-ette", Miss".
It does not matter what language you speak, there is only one correct way to pronounce these gorgeous liquid gems when ordering at a cafe in L.A. or in Paris.

There are well over 150 Champagne producers or 'houses' headquartered in France. Champagne is only made in France. Everything else is sparkling wine. Period.
Top 10 Most Mispronounced Beverage Words
Credit: Pommery / Facebook Page
Coming in at NUMBER ONE, in no particular order, is Pommery Champagne (pronounced: 'pom-mer-ay').
NUMBER TWO on the list is Taittinger Champagne (pronounced: 'tay-taun-jay').
My favorite number, THREE, for some beverage fun, Espresso (pronounced: Ess-press-oh) It is not EXpresso (this coffee drink is not going anywhere fast!).
NUMBER FOUR belongs to Perrier-Jouët Champagne (pronounced: 'pair-ee-ay joo-ette').
Almost done at NUMBER 5, Moët & Chandon Champagne (pronounced: 'mow-ette ay shan-dawn' -- The 't' is silent). My BFF's surname is, in fact, 'Piper' so this Champagne with the red or pink label is a fun one for me, in at NUMBER SIX list, Piper-Heidsieck Champagne (pronounced: 'piper hide-sick'). Rounding out the Top 10, we have this delicious wine, Sauvignon Blanc (pronounced: 'saw-vee-nyon blahnk')
Noted at NUMBER SEVEN. One of the more tricky names to pronounce, but just like with anyone's name, you want to say it correctly.
NUMBER 8 belongs to the former monk himself, Dom Pérignon Champagne (pronounced: 'Dohm Pay-reen-yohng'). Beaujolais Wine (pronounced: 'boh-jhoe lay') rounds out at NUMBER NINE.
The NUMBER TEN honor on my pet peeve list belongs to the bright 'yellow label' also known as Veuve Clicquot Champagne (pronounced: 'vehv klee-coe').
Now you know.
Champagne cheers,
x
